WINTER ARTS Camp: Mixed Media Shout-Outs
When: Monday, November 30-Friday, December 4th, 4:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.McColl Center December Events

What: In this week-long virtual arts camp, 11 to 16 year-olds will combine mixed media, drawing, and painting with exercises to encourage artistic experimentation. Taught by McColl Center alumna artist Sharon Dowell, camp registration includes all art supplies for five works of art and delivery within Mecklenburg County. Register here.

Financial Literacy 101 for Artists
When: Wednesday, December 2, 6:00-7:30 p.m
Where: Virtual
What: Take the crash course on money matters. This hands-on, 90-minute workshop is for professional artists and creatives to learn the nitty-gritty of budget savvy practices and financial stewardship for projects and businesses. Discussion and activities will focus on terminology, budget creation, and project finance management. Register here.

WINTER ARTS Camp: Gelatin Printmaking
When: Monday, December 7-Friday, December 11, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Where: Virtual
What: In this week-long virtual arts camp, 11 to 16 year-olds will translate their ideas to paper using a gelatin plate. Students will roll ink, pull prints, reveal ghost prints, and experiment with resist prints and textures to create art or creations like greeting cards and gift tags. Taught by Charlotte-based artist Laurie Smithwick, camp registration includes all art supplies for five works of art and delivery within Mecklenburg County. Register here.

 

WINTER ARTS Camp: Vinyl Creations
When: Monday, December 14-Friday, December 18, 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.
Where: Virtual
What: In this week-long virtual arts camp, 11 to 16 year-olds will transform vinyl records with collage and paint. Students will spin this unique, recycled canvas into works of art highlighting favorite genres or musicians. Charlotte-based artist Jaianna McCants will lead the camp that includes all art supplies for five works of art and delivery within Mecklenburg County. Register here.

Grant Writing for Artists
When: Wednesday, December 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Where: Virtual
What: Sharpen and refine your grant writing skills to push your applications to the top of the list. Artists and creatives, participate in this two-hour workshop to learn the basics of grant writing: finding grant calls, structuring essential components of a grant proposal, detailing project information, creating a budget, and writing a strong grant narrative.
