Fourth Ward Foundation is run by a volunteer network of residents, operated by a rotating Board of Directors. The Board is 100% volunteer based. The board distributes funds raised through the activities of the Friends of Fourth Ward neighborhood association to support social, cultural, humanitarian, and educational causes for the Fourth Ward Charlotte community.

Purpose:

• To assist in and promote the rehabilitation and redevelopment of a historic inner-city are of Charlotte NC, known as the Fourth Ward Historic District;
• To provide and promote social, cultural, and educational activities for residents of the Fourth Ward area;
• To provide a forum for discussion and an organized line of communication between the members of the corporation and appropriate governmental bodies;
• To promote the orderly development of a community with a healthy atmosphere, wholesome quality of life and fresh community spirit

We accomplish this through Community Betterment, Social Activities, Government/Political Liaison, and Philanthropic Giving.  Below are the recent recipients of the Foundation’s donations.
